I knew I had missed the heart of it at work. I think truth is art in its essential form. Until one unveils truth, s/he cannot say to be an "artist". Can be an actor, a writer, a singer, a painter and even very good at that, but not an artist. This is what Ricky Gervais did, he showed what faked art is vs truth.You have embarked on one hell of a quest and I really admire you for the honesty you display...however self-conscious that may be.
Okay, this is sort of off-topic. But, you were talking about the mask we wear as people. I've been thinking lately how far it really extends. I think sometimes for me the mask gets so convincing I believe it myself. Where can we find out the truth about ourselves?
I think it’s a different process for everyone. For me, it’s about doing things I’m afraid of. Things I thought myself incapable of doing. Getting beyond pride and self image. It’s so liberating when you start to accept yourself.
